The Heels of Love on Rumore Mag

English translation:
After reviewing their debut album on the last issue, we return without delay on Michele Tessandri and Luca Saponaro, the protagonists of Italian “cosmic” explosion. “We met one evening when Sapo was spinning, and after that I visited him in his studio,” says Michele, “until then I had done a couple of tracks of which I was quite proud, using only software – but there was an arsenal of synthesizers, drum machines and analog effects!”. Sapo played me a beat he was working, I started playing a bass line and the story started. There was immediately a great feeling: in a month we had ready the four tracks of our first EP, and other things released later including the instrumental of “Chain Gang”. That is the single – sung by Max Essa – which saw its debut in March 2011 for the British Nang, after their previous releases for Under the Shade, Hand Of Time and their own label Mad on the Moon.
How comes into play one of the trademarks symbol of this genre?
“We were in contact because of our previous projects, released on Bear Funk and Tirk, labels affiliated or close to Nang. We have proposed to remix a track of The Space, the French band of the late seventies ,and we sent some tracks with the idea of publishing an EP: they liked the material and we have proposed to make an album.” One of the best examples of a scene in great flurry…
“Nu disco” as definition makes me smile, it reminds producers that want to play like Lindstrøm. “Cosmic” however reminds Baldelli, Kraftwerk and George Clinton, stuff that moves the head and feet. Of this italian new wave I really like Clap Rules, they are great musicians, far from any pattern.
