16.12.2011 – Modeselektor Live / The Electricalz / The Barking Dogs

modeselektor live - monkeytown tour

The Berlin Wall had just dropped when Gerno Bronsert and Sebastian Szary met at an illegal rave. They started to produce music under the pseudonym of Fundamental Knowledge, name changed to Modeselektor in 1996.
In 2000, they met Ellen Allien who took them under contract with her label Bpitch Control.
In that period began the collaboration with Apparat (Moderat) and Pfadfinderei, a collective of video artists and graphic designers which produce some sound installations still exposed at the Centre Pompidou in Paris and at the Merz Academy in Stuttgart.
They have released three albums in the past, and have become the preferred group of Thom Yorke, lead singer of Radiohead, with whom they began a collaboration and produced some great tracks.

Today, Modeselektor finally reach Milan at Leoncavallo, within the world tour for the presentation of their new album “Monkeytown”, which is out on the homonymous label of their own creation. The album has just been released and is already a success, with two tracks sung by Thom York and collaborations with Apparat, Antipop Consotrium and other strong pieces of the international electronic scene.

Their live is always devastating, tight and fun.
We are waiting for you beneath the columns of the new sound system of Leoncavallo, so that you can say: I was there.
