Mushrooms Project

Mushrooms Project are Giorgio Giri and Marco Lentano who met back in 2003. They were joined through a love for DJing and a passion for all forms of music. Their inspiration has come from the Idjut Boys and the Mateo & Matos duet.
Pushing the boundaries of DJing they introduced themselves to using 4 turntables, which enables them to fuse together deep house, disco and funk. After making their debut in their home country of Italy they have gone onto play at various parties around Formentera and Ibiza. In the middle of the Mediterranean their Balearic approach to music fitted in perfectly with their surroundings! In 2008 the pair had their first production “Italian Trouble” signed by the London label Bear Funk Records. Shortly after a new demo arrived at Electric Minds who were quick to snap up their latest EP for the label. “Space Mushrooms”, for example, is a newly created track with live instruments throughout. The balearic and techy sounds provide an original and new sound for the ever growing house / nu disco scene. As an added bonus to this new Ep is a remix from Toby Tobias.
At the end of 2009 Mushrooms Project close the year with a work on “Pizzico Records” called “Banks!”, two Slo Tempo tracks that make their act unique. In 2010 they released an italian style 12″ EP on “Is It Balearic?” label which is called “Italian Connection” and just later the “Tropikal Mushrooms” 12″ EP on “UNDER THE SHADE” with two remixes by Phoreski and Mark E.
During the summer 2010, the italian duo launched the “Soupaczar” band creating a remix realesed on “Under the Shade” that claims a remix signed by Ray Mang and another one by Padded Cell.
In November 2010 they remixed “Liubov” by Crimea X, now available on “Hell Yeah rec.” receiving positive feedbacks by Stevie Kotey and others key characters of the space disco scene. The end of 2010 signs another work on Pizzico Records called “Cosmobalearia Adventure” that is a sort of Pizzico tradition because the label celebrates the most important recurrence of the year through this stunning project with two blunted and hypnotising tracks.

Mushrooms Project are the kings of Slo Tempo and they do deep druggy chunky mid tempo burners, sometime more balearic, sometime just more freaky and during their very long, deep, mesmerizing dj sets make their Slo motion unique. Their name says it all: their music is hallucinating but wrapping up; it will seem to you that you’re dancing at 130 bpm but actually it’s 110 bpm… and that’s their trick!
